Ours is a creative age. With phones that take photographs and cameras that make movies, it's no wonder everyone wants to be a writer. From screenplays to murder mysteries, we long to hit the New York Times Best Sellers List. But, the truth is that anyone who can pick-up a pencil is a writer, already. It's in-born in each of us, as deeply as the desire to color outside the lines with a favorite crayon or blow bubbles into the wind. For example, take a moment and sit down in your favorite spot. Put pen to paper and relax. Then, write down, quickly and thoughtlessly, every word that comes to mind. When you've finished, use each of these words in a sentence. (Again, writing quickly and thoughtlessly). And, voila! You've written a story. Easy, wasn't it? Why? Because you're a writer. Everyone is a writer. And, anyone who says differently is concerned about competition. So, grab a pencil, slap down some paper and write! |
